Recently bought two new nailpolishes from @digitaltraincase. I think it’s from the OPI muppets collection (ill have to double check though) hehe
I got two shades, one in designer… de-better and the other one is pepe’s purple passion 🙂
Here’s a pic of designer… De-better on my nails. Too bad my iphone cant capture it’s beauty! The polish is silvery/taupe with light pink and silver glitters. It’ SUPER nice in person!!
I dont usually wear platinum/silver colors on my nail but this color is just too nice! Dunchathink? 😉
Ill use purple passion next 🙂

ive been wanting my hair styled and colored for a while, i have been feeling restless lately and i just wanted a change – i was just too lazy to get my sorry ass to the salon. but yesterday i finally dragged myself to give oliver, of vivere salon megamall, a visit. sadly, he wasn’t around 😦
walked around megamall while waiting for hubby and i happened to chance upon tony&guy and decided to give it a try! i’ve heard of tony&guy before and i know it was going to be more expensive than vivere salon, nevertheless, i still nearly fainted when i saw the quotation! =p since i really wanted a haircut and color done – i took the plunge! 😀

do you like my new hairstyle? i am a bit torn… honestly, i wanted to cry yesterday because of the length and i felt like it uber emphasized my super round face. :p but i do like the color!
however, my hubby seems to love it. so i guess, i should be happy 🙂

i am sooo in love with adele. i just absolutely ADORE her – i love her music, her voice, her accent, i just love everything about her! 🙂
and she looked amazing during the Grammy’s (2012)! she was so elegant and glamorous in her black Giorgio Armani dress. and her makeup is just fab!!! 🙂
so today, i did an adele inspired look 😀 it’s more toned down than her makeup in the pic, after all, i am a working girl. :p (might look weird wearing false lashes and a heavily contoured face to work! haha)

review: thebalm eyeshadows

as soon as i found out that selected thebalm products were on sale at beautybar, i immediately went for a quick look. most of the products were 40% off!
i actually got a few items and i absolutely LOVE all of them! some of the items i got were these three amazing eyeshadows!
clockwise from top: sexy stacey – a nice grayish-silver, caught in the act courtney – a reddish brown color and all about alex – a golden green color (very unique!)
i really love these eyeshadows! the texture is soft and smooth and it’s very easy to apply and blend out. these shadows are not chalky nor powdery. the pigmentation is superb and the colors are wonderful – very wearable and doesn’t crease! the only thing i don’t like is the packaging. i like that the packaging is earth friendly and biodegradable but on the other hand, it feels so flimsy 😦
oh and did i mention that each shadow costs only P371.25 (original price is P675)????? at 0.12 oz, this has got to be the cheapest shadow i have ever purchased! (they are bigger than MAC shadows!)

see how pigmented these are? the swatches were made with one swipe only!
im not sure up to when the sale will run, but if i were you, i’d head out to your nearest beauty bar to get one or two or three of these shadows!

Im back to wearing reddish tones on my nails :p this time im wearing orly’s mysterious both on my finger tips and toe nails 🙂

Prior to this color i was actually sporting a gold color called meet manhattan from dashing diva which is also a gorgeous color!
Thats me holding up a ‘saludsod’, a local delicacy from marinduque 🙂

updated skin care routine

posting my updated skin care routine, for those who might be interested 🙂
just a background, i have always had problematic skin… i still do. so i take extra care of my skin. my main motto is that i don’t sleep with makeup on – no matter how tired i may feel, i always always make it a point to remove all traces of makeup from my face. i owe that to my skin :p
so what is my skin care routine? pretty simple actually. i follow the cleanse, tone and moisturize process.
during the morning:
(1) i wash my face using OBAGI facial wash;
(2) after drying my face with facial tissue – i gently pat my face with burt’s bees toner to start my day right;
(3) i then follow this with sunflower oil for my undereyes;
(4) and creme de la mer all over my face. i stopped using la mer for a while because i wanted to try organic moisturizers. i only started reusing la mer when we went to HK last december (it was freezing cold) – and i fell back in love :). there is truly nothing else like it; and
(5) after i moisturize, i put on sunblock (which i forgot to take a picture of!). i currently use vmv hypoallergenics face and body sunblock in spf 60. i use sunblock EVERYDAY – no matter what im planning to do that day.
for my night time routine:
(1) i use my bioderma sensibio h20 to remove my makeup;
(2) afterwhich, i wash my face with obagi facial wash using clarisonic mia to exfoliate my skin. this has really really helped with my skin problems! i feel like my pore has become smaller and my face smoother. will post a complete review of the clarisonic mia soon.
(3) i pat my skin dry and then apply burt’s bees toner;
(4) followed with sunflower oil for my undereyes;
(5) i then apply kiehl’s midnight recovery serum all over my face. during nights when my face feel extra dry, i put la mer on top for extra moisture.
also, twice a week, i use my laura mercier nail polish to slough off dead skin cells around my nose area – which my clarisonic mia can’t reach. 🙂
so there, i hope you find this post useful. 🙂 it really makes a difference when you take care of your skin. you only have one face… and once it’s “Destroyed” there is no turning back – so start taking care of it now! 🙂
last December when we went to Hong Kong, one of the things that i got was the bioderma sensibio h20 micelle solution. i have heard raves about this especially from makeup gurus in youtube – so i decided to give it a try.
what it is, is basically a makeup remover in a water based form.
here’s the product description from the BIODERMA website:

i’ve been using it since December and i must say that this is really one of THE best makeup removers around! i’ve tried all sorts of makeup removers (lancome, chanel, bobbi brown, kiehls, shu uemura) but this by far, is my favorite! HG product indeed.
why? first and foremost – it’s NOT oil based. i hate oil-based makeup removers because the oil tends to migrate to my eyes! oil based removers tend to have their perks – it gets the job done especially in removing waterproof makeup. but this BIODERMA sensibio h20 does exactly that! sans the oil. iiiii loooveeee it!!!!
i got 2 boxes of the 3pc set from watsons hong kong. the set came with 3 bottles in different sizes – a travel size, a 250ml and a 500ml. im sorry i forgot how much it is but i think it’s approximately P1500-P2000. sorry i really forgot to keep the tag.
here’s a road test of the product so you see exactly what i mean:

the result. good eh? i just pressed the cotton on my eyelid and gently wiped my makeup away. this is just with one wiping!
what i like:
– it really really really removes even the toughest / most waterproof makeup
– a little goes a long way
– it doesnt leave any residue on my skin
– it doesnt make my skin feel dry / irritated. totally not harsh on the skin!
– no pulling of the skin required!!! you just need to gently wipe with a cotton to get the job done
– works on everything – eyes, face and lips
what i don’t like:
– not available in the philippines 😦
– the price is a bit steep but i think this bottle will last me at least 6 months!

truly one of the best makeup remover i have ever tried. i will definitely repurchase everytime i go to singapore or hong kong! will stock up on this for sure! 🙂
Review: MAC Viva Glam I

i don’t know why i never thought of trying out the red lippies of MAC! i am now hooked with MAC lipsticks all over again! i really really believe that i found my HG red lippy!
here’s me wearing VIVA GLAM I
what i like:
– perfect red lip color for me! i LOVE it soooo much! and i do think this color will suit a lot of skintones!
– although it’s a matte lipstick, it’s not too drying
– makes my teeth look super duper white!
– it stays on your lips for a long time, and even when it fades, it leaves a very nice stain on your lips
– the best part is, ALL proceeds of VIVA GLAM lipsticks go to AIDS fund! (beauty for a cause indeed)
what i don’t like:
NOTHING!!!
mrskendz’ verdict: *****
i really believe this is the BEST red lipstick for my skin tone. it’s full on red but still subdued enough that you can wear everyday (i wear it at work!). it’s not a bright red like russian red, it’s actually more maroonish than bloody red.
really LOVE this and will definitely repurchase!
