mrskendz' beauty blog :)

Went to the supersale bazaar last weekend and got these beauties there (from digital traincase booth).

I havent got into the nyx band wagon because i havent really tried/tested their products myself.

So going to the bazaar and trying out nyx products first hand was really an eye opener! I think i will get hooked! Good thing nyx products are very affordable πŸ™‚

Anyway, here’s what i got:

I’ll post a detailed review with swatches after i’ve given these products a go. (expect my reviews in a week because thats usually how long i try products before commenting hehe)

Will post my review of the naked 2 next. Have been trying it for almost 2 weeks with different types of brushes πŸ™‚ im about ready to give my reviews πŸ™‚

Thats all for now. Will be blogging more in the coming days. So please watch out for that.

Good night everyone!

I have very fine and thin hair and im scared of what my hair might look like when i get older. Thats also one reason why i keep my hair relatively short – because everytime i see hair fall, i freak out!

I also refrain from blow drying my hair and using unnecessary products. I only condition my hair once or twice a week. Reason? Because i feel that the more i condition my hair, the more i get hair fall. 😦

Right now, here’s what i use on my hair:

Pureology antifade complex pure volume

This is a vegan shampoo meaning no ingredients were derived from animals plus it’s organic too! My mom got this at benchfix and i asked her if i can have it! πŸ™‚ i think each bottle is around P800 to P1000.

Since i have very fine hair, i need shampoo that adds volume else my hair looks so flat and lifeless. This shampoo is great because it doesnt make my hair too oily nor too dry. Even when i use the conditioner, my hair still has volume and feels super soft!

Kielh’s Super Thick Volumizer

This is best voluminizer ive ever tried. Had this for several years already. I dont use it all the time, but i feel that with my current hair style, added volume is a must. I spray this on my damp hair (after i get out of the shower), comb and im good to go πŸ™‚

Sometimes when i have extra time, i fan -dry my hair πŸ™‚

Other tips i have are:

– do not brush your hair when it’s wet, air it out or wait for it to dry a bit… brushing wet hair can cause breakage

– massage your scalp rather than scrubbing, when shampoo-ing

– my friends from Singapore told me NOT to wash my hair everyday to make it healthier and less oily. i think in the US, most people do this as well… i try to do this when i had longer hair. BUT i use dry shampoo on days when i DONT wash my hair πŸ™‚ Β here’s my brand of choice (too bad they dont have this in the Philippines. i hoard when i go to SG hehehe)

Klorane Dry Shampoo

Thats about it. As ive said i try to keep simple and try not to use a lot of products πŸ™‚

So whats your special hair product?

I just realized that i bought a number of items from @digitaltraincase over the past few weeks! Hehe im in makeup heaven right now πŸ™‚

Aside from the nail polishes i got (refer to previous post), i also got my hands on the urban decay (UD) naked 2 palette!!!

Ive been playing with it the entire week, testing and trying to figure out if i like it as much as the original Naked palette… We’ll see… Ill post a full review next. But on top my head i can say that Naked 2 is more cool toned while the original is warmer. Also, as pretty as the colors are, i think the shadows in naked 2 are great as lid colors… But not for contouring / crease color.

Here’s my FOTD using the naked 2:

Recently bought two new nailpolishes from @digitaltraincase. I think it’s from the OPI muppets collection (ill have to double check though) hehe

I got two shades, one in designer… de-better and the other one is pepe’s purple passion πŸ™‚

Here’s a pic of designer… De-better on my nails. Too bad my iphone cant capture it’s beauty! The polish is silvery/taupe with light pink and silver glitters. It’ SUPER nice in person!!

I dont usually wear platinum/silver colors on my nail but this color is just too nice! Dunchathink? πŸ˜‰

Ill use purple passion next πŸ™‚

ive been wanting Β my hair styled and colored for a while, i have been feeling restless lately and i just wanted a change – i was just too lazy to get my sorry ass to the salon. but yesterday i finally dragged myself to give oliver, of vivere salon megamall, a visit. sadly, he wasn’t around 😦

walked around megamall while waiting for hubby and i happened to chance upon tony&guy and decided to give it a try! i’ve heard of tony&guy before and i know it was going to be more expensive than vivere salon, nevertheless, Β i still nearly fainted when i saw the quotation! =p since i really wanted a haircut and color done – i took the plunge! πŸ˜€

this was me, before the haircut

this is me today! :p

sorry a bit blurry…

trying on different lipcolor. see what difference a lipstick can make??? πŸ™‚ which one do you prefer on me?

oh! and i wanted to show this very cute earrings i got from ALDO last Sunday. it’s a huge tear drop shaped earrings with lots of bling πŸ™‚

do you like my new hairstyle? i am a bit torn… honestly, i wanted to cry yesterday because of the length and i felt like it uber emphasized my super round face. :p but i do like the color!

however, my hubby seems to love it. so i guess, i should be happy πŸ™‚

products used:

MUFE HD foundation in 123

MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NW25 (undereyes)

MAC Espresso on brows set with MAC Brow Gel

MAC All That Glitters, Sketch and Carbon on eyes (sketch and carbon used VERY lightly and blended out)

MAC Blacktrack fluidline

NARS Laguna to contour

Body Shop Baked Blush in Coral

MAC Mineralized Skin Finish Natural to set makeup

1st lip color:Β Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Plum with Viva Glam VI lipgloss

2nd lip color: Revlon Lip Butter in Sweet Tart

i am sooo in love with adele. i just absolutely ADORE her – i love her music, her voice, her accent, i just love everything about her! πŸ™‚

and she looked amazing during the Grammy’s (2012)! she was so elegant and glamorous in her black Giorgio Armani dress. and her makeup is just fab!!! πŸ™‚

so today, i did an adele inspired look πŸ˜€ it’s more toned down than her makeup in the pic, after all, i am a working girl. :p (might look weird wearing false lashes and a heavily contoured face to work! haha)

here is my version… hope you like it! πŸ™‚

(i know i shouldnt have added the blush. but i just cant get thru the day without!)

products used:

The Body Shop’s Extra Virgin Minerals in 208 golden vanilla

MAC Espresso on brows

MAC Rice Paper, Cork and Espresso on eyes

MAC Blacktrack fluidline

NARS Laguna to contour

Body Shop Baked Blush in Coral

MAC Russian Red on lips

i hope you like it! πŸ˜€ i think Brule would have been better than Rice Paper but i left it at home! hehe.

as soon as i found out that selected thebalm products were on sale at beautybar, i immediately went for a quick look. most of the products were 40% off!

i actually got a few items and i absolutely LOVE all of them! some of the items i got were these three amazing eyeshadows!

clockwise from top: sexy stacey – a nice grayish-silver, caught in the act courtney – a reddish brown color and all about alexΒ – a golden green color (very unique!)

i really love these eyeshadows! the texture is soft and smooth and it’s very easy to apply and blend out. these shadows are not chalky nor powdery. the pigmentation is superb and the colors are wonderful – very wearable and doesn’t crease! the only thing i don’t like is the packaging. i like that the packaging is earth friendly and biodegradable but on the other hand, it feels so flimsy 😦

oh and did i mention that each shadow costs only P371.25 (original price is P675)????? at 0.12 oz, this has got to be the cheapest shadow i have ever purchased! (they are bigger than MAC shadows!)

here are swatches of the shadows:

see how pigmented these are? the swatches were made with one swipe only!

im not sure up to when the sale will run, but if i were you, i’d head out to your nearest beauty bar to get one or two or three of these shadows!
